IT Services works closely with various partners and maintains an intensive exchange with them. The focus here is on the availability of IT services and products for the entire university.

Educational Technologies is the university-wide contact for eEducation and learning spaces. They support the faculties and subjects in the design of virtual and physical teaching and learning environments, offer further training courses on this topic to all university members, coordinate various internal university working groups and networks and accompany development projects.

The Facilities department is the point of contact for the entire university for all questions relating to space requirements, furnishings and building access.

Staff and students should be able to use IT services and applications in all buildings. Thus, the IT supply of each building is mandatory. Furthermore, building control and automation is becoming increasingly IT-intensive and requires close integration into the IT landscape. All this has to be taken into account already in the planning, construction and later in the operation of the buildings.

Close cooperation ensures the best possible provision of IT in buildings - for the benefit of all users, without subsequently producing unnecessary costs and efforts.

Twice a year (spring and autumn), the sales campaign "Project Neptune" takes place for a fixed time window, during which IT hardware can be purchased.

IT Services participates in this campaign.

The SAP Competence Center (SAP CC) ensures the operation and further development of the SAP environment with the corresponding planning and coordination of activities. Key tasks include collaboration on SAP projects, maintenance and development of own interfaces and applications, second-level support, contract administration, license management and system measurement.

IT Services provides SAP CC with data center space, storage infrastructure, network infrastructure, backup services, user management (via Identity Management/GF Gui) and takes care of the deployment of the application (SAPGui).

The partnership ensures the highest possible availability and reliability of the SAP applications and the business processes based on them.

sciCORE is a centre of excellence for scientific computing that offers infrastructures and services for high-performance computing and the storage and processing of scientific data. It supports researchers in these disciplines on a project-related and very specific basis.

IT Services provides sciCORE with data centre space, network infrastructure, backup services and user management (via Identity Management/GF Gui). Due to the very data-intensive services of sciCORE, which have enormous demands on the network and backup, close coordination is necessary.

Together, sciCORE and we can provide users with ideal support and offer them the best possible service.

The Student Administration Services operate the course catalogue and the room information (teaching rooms), as well as the services and applications of the industry solution SAP Student Life Cycle Management (SLCM) for students, lecturers and staff of the Deans of Studies and the Deans of Research.

The Student Administration Services design the further development of the services and applications in dialogue with the various user groups, implement the improvements and ensure the operation of the applications and services. In addition, they offer documentation, training and support for the processes of study administration.

SWITCH supports the University of Basel in connectivity, security, collaboration, e-learning and e-science.

As an independent partner, SWITCH networks and pools the expertise of all stakeholders inside and outside academia. Together with them, SWITCH develops and improves holistic ICT solutions. This creates added value for everyone.
